Show Control Module

New to pixel lighting? Want it all to be that bit easier? At Build A Light Show we have tried various ways of doing starter packs, but we always found them quite limiting, so in 2025 we have decided to try to keep it easy, but also to give you the options to grow your show how you would like - so we have made the modular show packs - an easy way to make your show "yours", but keeping it simple too!

The core of the module pack is this very one you are looking at - the Show Control Module. All shows need a show player, audio and networking, so we decided to put all this together for you. It does appear expensive, but keep reading, as purchasing this module carries a lot of savings and benefits later!

In the show control module, you get the following:

1x Bud Box Outdoor enclosure, with all cable entry and network glands
1x 8 port Network switch to control up to 6 further modules without additional hardware (you can add more later if you wish)
1x Raspberry Pi with a FPP loaded SD card, and a soundblaster USB Audio addon
1x 12v Power supply (MeanWell RSP)
1x Buck convertor to power your Pi
1x Pre drilled mounting plate for all the components to mount in the box
1x Sequence with all our modules preloaded (delete the modules you don't own)
1x Exclusive access to a weekly webinar for 6 weeks, where one of our favourite Elves will be available to you and other new starters to answer questions, get tips and tricks on getting started, and stop you breaking your new shiny purchases!

All of this comes ready to assemble, though you will need to get some cat 5 cables to link to other modules and your home router (we don't know how long a cable you will need, so that is one thing you will need to make/learn/do!), and you will also need to buy some outdoor speakers (there are so many choices and your situation/needs will determine what you need - they start as low as £15, all the way up to £400 and are available from a number of suppliers)

When you buy a Starter Show Control Module, you also get 5% off when you buy 2 or more module addons - this can be worth between £55 and £105 n when buying only 2 modules, more if you buy further modules!
There probably isn't a much easier way to get going in this hobby, and with all the additional benefits, it could end up costing you under £150!

Lastly, there is another upside to this Show Control Module - we have an upgrade kit which allows you to add an 8 port Baldrick controller to this kit.
