The BaldrickAudio was designed to be a simple board for people who want an action to play a sound, put some sounds on an SD card, hook up a motion sensor and when someone walks past suddenly they are scared to death by the shriek of a little girl ghost.
But one trigger wasn’t enough, we added four triggers AND the ability to do background audio (which is more complicated than you think!)
With the use of Busk Board and the Turnip Network, you can easily trigger the sounds remotely via mobile or other Baldrick Boards.
Board Features
- 2 x 100mb ethernet ports and an onboard switch for daisy chaining.
- Pre-Amp Audio out via 3 Pin XLR and/or 3.5mm Jack,
- Inbuilt 25w amp with 2x 2pin phoenix connectors for easy connection
- 4 x Inputs for buttons or sensors
- Onboard wifi for Busk Board CunningFX / board control
- SD Card reader
- 5-24V DC inputs
- Same medium footprint as the Baldrick8 so reuse those bases.
A few things to note:
- The onboard SD card slot is currently only tested to 32Gb, with a FAT32 file system, and you need to load your files onto the card via your PC - webUI upload capabilities will be in a future release of firmware
- The board plays 44100khz 16bit stereo .wav files - other file formats will come later
- The onboard pre-amp output is exactly that, a pre-amp output - please note the volume control in the webUI will not affect the volume of the pre-amp!
- If you want to have a quieter background audio file playing with a louder overlay, you will currently need to set those volume differences on the audio files themselves (Audacity is great for this) - future firmware releases will allow you to adjust the volume of different tracks via the webUI.
