  2. Crimpers

These are the crimpers we recommend to use with our Red Heatshrink Crimps.
They are adjustable, and we ship them on quite a weak setting, but we recommend that you wind the tension up at least 5 notches to ensure a good crimp on the connectors. We will send 5 crimps with the tool, so you can test out the tension before using them on your pixels!

  3. These are great for field repairs, to repair those pesky pixels that break in annoying places at annoying times. Also fantastic for those who want to have a quick easy method of string building.
These are adhesive lined heatshrink crimps, so you get multiple forms of joint security, and also waterproofing.
We recommend that you use very good quality crimpers (we sell the ones we recommend here in the store) to use these, as if they are too weak you will not achieve a good mechanical joint. A good heatgun or brazing torch is fantastic for shrinking down the seal. We will be putting a video up of how to use these soon!

    3.99 GBP

  4. Probably one of the easiest ways to join cables, requires little to no skill. We will be doing a video on their use soon, but they should be fairly self explanatory.
    Things to note;
Lots of people try to use heat guns with these. You are far better off with a brazing torch, mini blow torch, or a kitchen butane torch. They will make a better seal and allow the solder to get up to temperature and flow better within the joint.
2nd main thing to note, is that if you are using these to install as opposed to field repair, the addition of a bit extra tin/lead solder will be good.

We love these things, and we believe have the most competitively priced  offering out there (especially stocked in the UK!!)

  7. We often get asked "what do we need to build a controller?" or "Can we buy something ready to run?"
So, we have finally got to a position where we can offer the following:

An F16 v3 Pixel Controller - probably the best controller on the market - specs are below
    2x RSP 12v or 5v PSUs
A CG1500 Enclosure, with the back and door plates, to mount the controller and PSUs.
    16x Weatherproof Pigtails
All the associated connectors and screws to fit it all together.

The only thing you need to provide, is mains power to the box, and a couple of hours to assemble it.
We couldn't make it a lot simpler - and you also save yourself a few ££s by buying all this together as a kit!

  9. Always wanted more space to use in your CG1500? Making up bits of acrylic to get the door area in use? We have a solutionWe have had these manufactured, to accomodate the footprints of as many common PSUs possible, though we have tested with variations LRS and RSP power supplies.
These plates are supplied with a screw kit to mount, 1 PSU and also to fix it in to the CG1500 Door itself.
We try to make things as easy as possible for our customers, and this certainly has done that! No more measuring, drilling, hoping - we have done it all for you!

Please note, the images below are for the plate only - the controllers and PSU's are shown for examples of use.

  11. The Pi-OLED Hat is a board to easily allow mounting an OLED display onto a Raspberry Pi to display simple status information such as network IP address and player status.

It also provides push buttons that are used to access the FPP OLED menu system. From the menus, playlists can be started, various test modes activated, shutdown/restart, tethering options, etc… are available with more to come in future versions of FPP.

The hat also provides a simple i2c temperature sensor for reading the current temperature in the mounting location.

Finally, the board provides two expansion headers. The first is a 1×4 female header that provides access to the I2C bus for additional I2C peripherals. The second is a 2×5 male header that is a direct mapping to the first 10 pins of the Raspberry Pi connector. It exposes the I2C bus as well as 3 GPIO pins that could be used to wire additional push buttons or other sensors or triggers. Since it is a direct mapping to the Pi header, any of the Pi I2C devices such as RTC’s should work.

The price includes a blue/yellow OLED. We will be stocking other choices soon.
We would like to thanks Dan Kulp for helping us with bringing you this product - we urge all our customers to donate to the FPP project - you can find details here:

  14. The 4-String Differential SmartReceiver Board can be connected to the F16V2, F16V3 and F4V3 Differential Expansion boards as well as the popular F48 differential controller allowing 4 strings to be placed up to 250+ feet from the controllers. When powered from F16V3/F16V2 expansion boards, F4V3 expansion board or the F48 the SmartReceiver can be daisy-chained together with other SmartReceivers (maximum three per chain). The chain will share the allocated number of pixels configured for the port it is connected to.

The SmartReceiver has a built in test mode that is activated by a push button. Great for testing pixels without the need of a controller. The board features four LEDS that will light respectively when data is detected on the four data lines.
    Note: Supports 3-wire pixels only.

The Smart Differential Receiver replaces the older Differential receiver, and can be used in "non smart" mode, as a standalone Differential Receiver.

These receivers will require a new version of firmware for your controller to maximise their capabilities. This firmware is due to be released on or around the 15th July. We will update this page as more information becomes available.

  15. If you want a weatherproof method of connecting your props and models to your controllers, then these weatherproof pigtails are a very good way to do it.
These allow control box connections etc, by having a 40cm tail added to each side of the connector.
There are a lot of different options on the market, and you will hear people referring to "rays pigtails, or "Pauls pigtails" or more recently, the "x-connect". Well, we are supplying the "Build a light show" pigtails - they are the slimmest, highest quality tails we could source. Other connectors are just so bulky - ours are very very slim, and not obtrusive . We will not change the design or supplier on these, so you can ensure consistency when buying from us.
The price includes a male and female connector, not just one side.

    1.15 GBP

  16. Many people insist on using waterproof pigtails, others hardwire, for those in the middle, these are a great compromise. Add a blob of dieletric grease, or even some vaseline to the connection, and you can run your show on quite happily. If you prefer to use waterproof pigtails, you can find these in our accessories section.
We have had these made to allow control box connections etc, by having a 40cm tail added to each side of the connector.
The price includes a male and female connector, not just one side.

  17. Whilst the  Meanwell LRS-350 is the PSU of choice in the USA, but cannot be sold to consumers in the EU, due to the lack of a CE Mark. The PSU cannot acquire the CE Mark due to the lack of a PFC circuit.

As such we have worked to find a PSU as close in performance to the LRS as possible. We found it - the RSP-320-5. This is borderline identical to the LRS-350, but with the following changes. It carried the PFC circuit, and is also CE approved. The only other difference is that is is a 320w supply instead of the 350w that the LRS delivers.
